Bob grew up on the Monterey Peninsula, graduated from Monterey High and the from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in economics and also through ROTC upon graduation was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Three years later he graduated "with distinction" from the University of Arizona School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. He was selected for a position as a prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice in Washington D.C. where he served for three years in the Antitrust Division as well as a staff attorney representing clients before President Ford's Amnesty Review Board after the Vietnam War.
Bob and his wife Judy returned to Monterey in 1976 where he has been practicing law ever since. Although initially setting up a general practice in association with well known local attorneys Elwood Wilson and John Shepherd, for many years now he has been a sole practitioner concentrating on estate planning, wills and trusts, probate and the formation and guiding of non-profit organizations. In this later context he is privileged to be associated with and represents many local Christian ministries and number of local churches as well as international non-profits assisting the needy around the world. The Williams' have found great joy in being privileged to volunteer their time serving along side a number of foreign missionaries in various countries in far flung corners of the world. They are active members of a local church. Bob is a member of the California Bar Association, the Christian Legal Society and currently serves on several boards of directors of local non-profits and attorney adviser to many others. Bob and Judy (who was chair of Child Evangelism Fellowship, Monterey County Chapter for 8 years) were married in 1974 and have two grown married children and two grandchildren in Southern California.
